STRESS, The Culprit In Fibromyalgia And many Other Chronic Pain Conditions

I’ve posted extensively on the effects of stress on the brain and the subsequent degeneration of neurons that cause pain, fibro-fog, insomnia, irritable bowl syndrome, heart arrhythmia, headaches, and light sensitivity all related to fibromyalgia.4 This video explains how stress lasting longer than a few minutes, causes a sympathetic response that triggers adrenaline and cortisol production, which causes transneural degeneration of the neurons in your brain.1,2,3,4

This type of sustained stress leads to dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system, which is the leading theory behind the cause of many types of chronic pain and fibromyalgia.  In our office we treat the brain, with the goal of normalizing and balancing brain impulse, biomechanics, and metabolic imbalance.  Visit my post HERE on functional neurology to learn more about our treatment.

If you don’t recognize and treat stress and neuronal degeneration of the brain, you are just covering up symptoms and not treating the problem.

To find out if you or someone you know could benefit from our treatment, call our clinic at (828) 324-0800, or email us at drshook@alliancechiropracticcenter.com with questions or for an appointment.  Dr. Shook is available for phone consultations at no charge, but you must call in advance and schedule a time for your call.
