Hi Dr. Shook. Is there a reason that insurance won’t cover a functional medicine doctor? I’m frustrated about this!

  4. Yordana Berhane Reply

Could you please make another Livevideo about thyroidectomy and how it effect your whole body. Excuse my english…i live in Sweden

I have RA, had anaphylaxis reaction to methotrexate. Totally off meds and controlled with anti-inflammatory diet, quality turmeric and omega3 supplements. Feel great! I also have MS.

I’m glad you are feeling great, Doreen!

I see a top Rheumatologist in Chicago. I am treated daily and monthly with autoimmune medication. Best I have felt in years….

  7. Lynda Booth Reply

My gp wants me to see a naturopath for help with diet to help my autoimmune system and my hemochromotosis but my insurance will not cover. I am trying to learn on my own.

  8. Shawna Lupoli Reply

I’ve been struggling with Hashimotos for years. My thyroid is very labile, and the slightest change in medication makes it swing from hypo to hyper. But it also won’t stay stable on the same dose. (I take NDT) I’ve gone gluten free to no change in how I feel or in my weight. I still can’t lose. And now I’m starting to have daily pain. I’m hoping I can find the answer.

    • Kristel Swan Griffin Reply

In the same boat. I have been successful drinking shake supplements with no sugars or carbs and eating clean has helped my pain and weight loss slowly. My TPO Antibodies are 3600. Which is up from a few years ago. Which makes me crazy!

      • Shawna Lupoli

I tried shakes and gained weight. Paleo, Whole 30, Primal, low/no carb … Gained. 🙁

Those are really high!! It’s so frustrating.

      • Angela Lamberth

        NAC has helped me tremendously.

      • Shawna Lupoli

I take that also. I’m sure having two copies of MTHFR A1298c doesn’t help. I just wish I could find an answer.
