My Dr told me that anxiety is not related to thyroid issues, is this true? He said he’s psychological issues that I must have. I haven’t had anxiety in YEARS

    • Samantha Olson Reply

My docs kept telling me anxiety I was having had nothing to do with thyroid issues. If you google you’ll see this is not true. Anxiety is a huge symptom of thyroid issues. The symptoms caused the anxiety I suffered with. You’re not crazy !

What dr would really listen to this?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Very few. This information has to be something that doctors seek the because of a personal experience or because they’re tired of what is happening in their practice and are trying to find another way. Many feel trapped but don’t know how to get out.

      • Melinda Cruz

That is the hard part. You are the few to tell truth and really care.

Why do I feel pain with my diverticulitis?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hi Sue, you can feel pain, but the neurology is different than most other areas of the body. This is kind of heavy, but the abstract helps explain how pain is felt in the gut. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2271299 hope this helps.

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

“the number of afferent nociceptive fibers in the intestine is minimal, and this accounts for the fact that large areas of the GI tract appear to be insensitive or to require considerable stimulation before pain can be elicited. “
