Hi Sarah. Yes, sodium has been shown to stimulate the TH17 group of cells. The TH17 system causes tissue destruction and promotes autoimmunity. Based on what I learned I would use salt sparingly. Stinks, I know!

I only use a little sea salt on my broiled broccoli. Never add salt to anything. What about garlic salt? 🙁

do you have any references on the sodium/inflammatory physiology? Many of my Hashi patients feel better on healthy salt.
