Tama, did you do the breath test?

      • Tama Maltsberger-Scott

        Yes I did

      • Tama Maltsberger-Scott

I am suppose to go back but because the diet that I went on made me so sick I told them that I need to wait . My sugar level drop below 70 that’s why I am trying to find another diet that won’t make me so sick

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

Low FODMAP is usually the diet, but you have to eat frequently.

If one does not eat frequently, that is, every 2 hours, will that bring on sugar lows ? I carry Jelly Beans and Water around w me when I am away from home ..

      • Tama Maltsberger-Scott

Dr Brad Shook I was never informed of eating every few hours the paperwork they gave me was a list of foods but on the list I am allergic too 🙁 which made my choices some what limited . That is why I was looking at paleo diet

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

Tessie, in some cases people have to eat frequently to keep their blood sugar from dropping. This usually happens in my patient based when people are not eating the right type of foods, and not consuming enough protein and fat in their diet. There are other factors like inflammation and cortisol that I would look at too.

I enjoy the sauna. Have been back on Synthroid (50) for 8 weeks and feeling terrible, will be transferring over to NDT next week. Your office had suggested that I wait to sauna after I am feeling better?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Janet, I don’t recommend the sauna for most of my patients, in the beginning, They need to decrease their inflammation, improve gut health and balance their blood sugar, then I will have them focus on pushing the detoxification pathways. If you have been doing it, then it may be okay, but not for most people, it is too stressful. I do love them, though!
You need to watch Dr. Rhonda’s video on it… amazing benefits! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWKBsh7YTXQ

How do I find a dr that will listen to me? I have Hashimoto’s and I am only 32 and feel like death more days than not. My 3 Drs I have tried just throw meds at me and don’t listen to my symptoms. Please help

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hi Kelly, I’m sorry that you had so much trouble finding a doctor that will work with you. Unfortunately I hear this a lot and I really don’t know what the answer is. I work with people all across the United States and in other countries because of this reason.

Do you accept insurance? The offices I’ve found locally that seem to treat similarly to you don’t accept insurance.

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hi Virginia comma we do not file insurance but we will provide you with an itemized superbill that you can provide to your insurance for consideration of reimbursement. The problem is is that insurance companies based the care that they determined to be necessary off of guidelines that are primarily focused on medications as the solution. What ends up happening is that there is not coverage for this type of preventive care. We do offer payment options and we try to make this type of healthcare accessible to everyone. I hope this helps. Have a good day.

Wow Dr Shook, to say that was helpful is a huge understatement. That was incredible. For the first time I actually understand what “leaky gut” actually is and the processes that can cause it. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain it so thoroughly. You have a gift for explaining things in way through understandable to someone with no medical background.
    Thank you so much.
