I was considering botox for my chronic migraines, but now I think it would be a mistake to do that. Thanks so much for this information.
No problem! Here is the printed abstract.
What do you think about allergy injections. I have horrible allergies plus hashimotos. Would anything in those injections bother my thyroid.
Hi Denise, I’m not aware of a direct relationship with Hashimoto’s, but airborne allergens enter the lung barrier when it is compromised and leaky, very much like leaky gut. The barrier systems of the lung are very similar to the intestinal wall. There could be a relationship where the immune system reacts to allergens and attacks the thyroid through “molecular mimicry,” but I don’t have any research on it.
I have Graves Diseases and listen to a lot of your videos. Do the things that you talk about also apply to Graves’ Disease? It sounds like it would.
Hi Bonnie, yes Graves’ and Hashimoto’s are both autoimmune, it is just the immune system target that is different. If you address the autoimmunity to have a chance to improve both conditions. Graves’ does however require medical management because of the possibility of having a thyroid storm.
The Office of Dr. Brad Shook thank you for you reply and advice. I was just thinking I should be seeing a doctor. Do you deal with Graves’ or just Hashimoto’s?
I don’t care either! Wear a blanket, hoodie, ewoke costume…happy to be learning so much from you!
