So how do you address the brain stimulation? What if you don’t suffer constipation but do suffer from frequent yeast infections?
Hi Heather, generally speaking you want to do things like frequent gargling with water several times per day, singing loudly, and actually one of the most effective ways is to use a tongue depressor and yes, literally gag yourself until your eyes water. That may sound a little bit strange but the fact is is that the neurons or nerve cells that are associated with the vagus nerve are also very close in relationship anatomically to the neurons that will stimulate watering of your eyes. When your eyes water you know that you have effectively stimulated that group of neurons and you will have the strongest vagal stimulation.
You can also chew gum for about 5 to 10 minutes prior to eating each meal to activate the neurons that Prime the vagus nerve. Just make sure that the gum that you’re chewing is sugar alcohol based. I like spry gum.
Wow! So I accidentally gag myself twice a day to the point of eyes watering while brushing my teeth/tongue. Is that frequent enough?
