Hi Dr Shook, I love all of the videos you post! You explain it in such a way that we can understand what’s going on inside our bodies! Thank you I have Hashimoto’s. I’ve had a partial thyroidectomy. I just recently got a cat scan due to leg swelling. It came back saying my liver has multiple sub centimeter hypo attenuating foci throughout both lobes. Some are larger since by last ct scan in2013. Should I be concerned and should I request an MRI?

How do we get rid of inflammation? I am curious about that?

HI Princess, unfortunately that is a complicated question. The best way to get rid of inflammation is to address the cause of the inflammation. Medications and nutritional supplementation can help, but that is only suppressing inflammation, not address WHY the inflammation is present in the first place. You basically have to investigate the drivers or causes of inflammation first. Hope this helps!

    How is inflammation tested?

In some weird way, I am imagining we are being “bitten” on the inside of our bodies by antibodies and our cells are getting inflamed by that. I saw a video once of white blood cells consuming cells or something like that. I can see if we were bitten by a dog that the injury would swell up. I am thinking that on the inside of our bodies when we have an attack by antibodies.

I watch your videos on a daily basis and you do a wonderful job explaining all your topics. I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. My antibodies were really high. I am currently going through further testing. I was waiting for my food allergy tests to come back to determine how I went about my diet and determining if I really need to remove gluten etc. So far all food allergy tests have come back with no allergies. At the same time I was dealing with calcific tendinitis in both shoulders (very painful) after several steroid shots my dr finally went in and needle aspirated out the calcium and my shoulders feel great. I recently had thyroid labs run again and my antibodies are A LOT lower. Could this inflammation in my shoulders have been a trigger? Is it possible that this could have caused my thyroid problems and not something like a gluten sensitivity?
