Same dr put me on NDT and the rest jump up & down insisting on synthroid only…that hasn’t helped for decades…last specialist put me BACK on the steroids to ‘wean’ me off…so I didn’t go into a coma from stopping them (which I did 5 months before that) would NOT listen to the fact that I’d been OFF them for

I thought iodine was used to kill the thyroid years ago?

  41. Amy Love Reply

What would cause high blood pressure? Out of the blue I now have this and doctors say it’s hereditary. I’m 32, very healthy. vegetarian, gluten free, soy free and corn free. My thyroid labs are optimal at the moment.

  42. Angie Sellars Johnson Reply

I only take 75 mg tirosint . I’m hypo and hashimotos. Doctor won’t do additional test. Take selenium to get my TPO antibodies down, but doctor won’t recheck antibodies bc she says no reason bc I’m on thyroid medicine. I’m deficient in vitamin D. I’m on here to try and help myself but mainly help my daughters . One daughter has hashimotos, the other two have some symptoms. Just need to know where to start with all the testing. I m funny about medicine. So I won’t take anything unless I’m deficient

I had a large Parathyroid removed plus a portion of my thyroid last year. I am 64 and have always had great health. I did have a hysterectomy about 25 years ago and my gall bladder removed 4 years ago. I am gaining major weight. Having some memory issues but nothing like before the Parathyroid/Thyroid Surgery. I have lost a lot of hair, major pain in lower back to the point I can’t walk or stand for very long. Also in last 2 months my hands are numb and i can hardly bend my fingers. I am cold all the time. Also having major eye issues in vision. My blood pressure runs very high and no medication helps. I am on no medications as the side effects of the HB med was terrible.

Due to Parathyroid removal I do have to take high dosage of calcium, plus Vit D and Magnesium along with my liquid multivitamins.

I am going for my yearly physical next week which includes blood work. Please advise if any additional bloodwork I need to include in addition to the regular drawing.

I want to quit hurting and be able to go places with my family, but because I can’t walk very far I stay home. I appreciate any suggestions you can give me.

I’m taking vitamins to help myself. Iron for anemia, D, C and calcium, magnesium and zinc. I also take fish oil and probiotics. I went off synthroid three years ago because of lack having medical. Some days I feel ok and some days I don’t. No stamina and fatigue some days.
