Is the thyroid gland the only thing affected if you have Hashimoto’s?

Is the thyroid gland the only thing affected if you have Hashimoto’s?

  1. Charlene Martin Sellers Reply

I’m afraid I might have thyroid c . I had ultrasounds a nodule about a year ago and the pathologist said have another in 6 months .. my endo said no, they just read the ultrasounds. I’m having trouble swallowing and feeling choking: uncomfortable pressure when laying on back or turning head to the right

  61. Crohns MAP Vaccine Reply

Kim Guthrie, you are correct. Very few so called autoimmune diseases is the result of the body attacking it’s own cells. There is now a huge body of evidence that show that this is most likely an immune-mediated disease, meaning that the immune system is reacting from a pathogen of unknown cause which causes a dysregulation in the immune system. Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuburculosis is one such pathogen that can cause this, managing to evade detection by the immune system by actually hiding inside white blood cells, it’s also so good at hiding that detecting it in the system is very difficult and growing it in culture is still very tricky. But the presence of MAP in someone that is genetically susceptible to it causes the perfect storm to create many different immune related health problems!
