    Been working on my hashimotos/ thryoid issues for awhile. Started Keto diet and I do feel better, but been adding dairy with it,, is dairy a huge No for hypothyroid patients ? thyroid is destroyed completely on ultrasound… I take selenium, zinc, liquid Vit Dwith K2, still trying to get down to my lean self that I was when I was a personal trainer.. not a fun journey

    So for the Hashimotos/Thyroid people we should do AIP. over Keto. I have Type 2 as well. I love Keto it works. AIP is so strict

    I tried Stevia – I just hate the awful taste! I’d use honey, but honey is 40% fructose too and still not good if you’re cutting sugar

    My grandfather had diabetes and used Splenda in everything and he cooked with it. He was told not to eat sugar. He thought he was making a good choice. What can be used as a safe alternative to sugar?

      Yeah I use stevia unless baking then I use swerve most often. Hopefully it’s not too horrible as it more in the naturally derived basket than the artificially created ones.

        Jennifer Kotila Walden it looks pretty good. I would avoid it if you have SIBO, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Usually associated with GI bloating.

    Was told by my pediatric neurologist to stay away from aspertaime in the 80s, didn’t really say why…when I was diagnosed with epilepsy but he did not link it with the epilepsy when he told me…just told me to stay away

      The sugar alcohols like Xylitol May promote small intestinal bacterial overgrowth… But there are worse things.

        Thank you, that’s good to know.
        Oh, and I spelled Zylitol the way I did because that is the brand I buy. I do have IBS, so knowing that is very helpful. I try to only use it once a week on Sunday morning for a hot tea.
