    Ketosis and Hypoglycemia? OK?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

In similar cases as long as someone gets into ketosis correctly and does not just try to stop eating or go from a diet high in carbs to a low carb low calorie diet it’s usually not a problem at all.

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hey Aaron, Bayview help to slow the release of blood sugar but you got to be careful because some Fiber will also carry your good gut bacteria out with it so there has to be the right type of fiber in the right balance.

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hi Susie, I understand. Just to be clear I want you to know that I’m not an advocate of ketogenic diets, I’m an advocate of dietray variation which does involve ketosis. Ketosis is a normal physiological process and an essential way that we should burn energy as humans. It’s not that you should stay in ketosis but if you don’t switch your energy production systems back and forth between ketosis and sugar burning or glycolysis then I believe you’re putting your health at risk. Hope this helps.

I’ve been practicing intermittent fasting for 18 months and find it amazing. I only do 2 days at a time, first evening is really hard when the family are eating, however you wake up the next morning feeling good and that need to eat has subsided. The following morning I feel incredible, clear headed, light, weightloss, energy, no naughty cravings. I’m maintaining my weight so easily, have hashis and underactive thyroid. I do make sure that I don’t become hypoglycemic.
