Did you know there are 4-Stage of Healing Hashimoto’s?
Find out what stage you’re at, here: https://hashimotosdoctor.com/fb4stagesofhealing

My TSH is high, but T4 is normal. Why won’t my doctor prescribe thyroid hormones?
This is called subclinical hypothyroidism, and you should be looking for other causes of the problem… let me explain.

That happened for years with me. Until I had two large painful nodules that had to be removed. Then they found cancer in them. I believe all of that could’ve been prevented if doctors would’ve listened to me and actually dug to find answers. 🙁

My wish is that every endocrinologist and mainstream medical doctor would get a taste of living life unmedicated with a TSH of 10.

Dr. Shook, I see you frequently use what I presume to be a far infared sauna. How, when and why do you use it as part of your personal health program? Thank you.. (i have one but don’t use it much as i don’t know as much as I should about it)

Hi Wendy, I love far infrared saunas I try to use it 2 to 3 times per week for anywhere from 20 to about 50 minutes. They can actually be too much stress on people that are just initially trying to recover from Hashimoto’s or an autoimmune condition. I’m pretty sure there’s a there’s a great post somewhere on infrared saunas if you go to the greater Hickory thyroid support group and you type in sauna you’ll probably find a list of results where I talk about it. I’m a huge fan of Rhonda Patrick she is a PhD and she did a fantastic two-part series on sauna therapy and all of its benefits it is absolutely amazing what heat acclimatization can do for your health but you have to be able to tolerate it.

Thanks, I will search those resources out. I originally got mine to help detox plasticizers and other toxins removed by sweat. I found I didn’t sweat well or easily though. So I will need motivation to acclimate to the process. Also learning about reducing the inflammation driving so much of what is behind my health issues. I really appreciate your site and information you provide. It is the best and most through I have seen. Do you do allergy testing other than thyroid? I have tested negative for thyroid antibodies but am wondering about other allergens. I am in Washington State.
