Neck Pain, Back Pain and Headaches: Three Reasons You Should See A Chiropractor First

It’s no longer an opinion, if you have neck pain, back pain or headaches, research has proven chiropractic is safe, effective and cost effective.  Spinal manipulation is much safer than taking ibuprofen, having a cortisone injected for spinal pain, and of course, much safer than spinal surgery.  The effectiveness of spinal manipulation’s ability to reduce pain and improve function is very high for back pain, neck pain and headaches. Cost effectiveness  has also been shown to be consistently less than most medical management for the same problem.  The next time you or someone you know has back pain, neck pain or headaches, you should save yourself some money and try chiropractic first, before putting yourself at risk with medications and dangerous surgeries or injections.

I was recently in alot of neck pain and found your blog. I believe its mostly due to sitting at a computer most of the day and night. Unfortunately I don’t have health insurance or the ability to spend much on Chiropractor appointments. A recent appointment I had was asked by a Chiropractor to prepay $9,000 for one year of appointments. So I am considering using a neck and spinal positioning system inbetween just a few appointments per month.

Christina, I can’t comment on what was recommended to you, or provide you with a specific recommendation without examining you. It is a fact that postural and ergonomic stress does cause degeneration of the spine. I recently posted on that exact topic. I’m not familiar with any neck positioning systems, so I can;t comment on it either. I base all of my patient management decisions off of research. That way if I have a recommendation for a patient, I know that what I’m proposing for them is in there best interest and future health. Ask the doctor what his recommendations are based on, and at least get a reference fro the research. If they are recommending care for 9k, they better have research for it. I hope this helps. Thanks for commenting.
