NEW Research (2011) Shows Strong Occurance of Peripheral Neuropathy in Those With Lupus (SLE)

New research published in 2011 shows that there is a strong relationship and chance that people with Lupus (SLE) will develop peripheral neuropathy.1  Lupus is an autoimmune condition that has to be addressed medically, but that can be supported very well with adopting dietary changes and using very specific nutritional supplementation to help regulate the immune system and decrease autoimmune attacks.  Peripheral neuropathy is death or damage of nerves in the “periphery” (typically arms and feet, aka: glove and stocking) that cause a number of symptoms that can be extremely debilitating and painful.

New research based treatments utilizing low level laser therapy, specialized electrotherpay, functional nutrition and several other additional complimentary modailities have been shown to help improve symptoms and function in those with peripheral neuropathy.  Dr. Shook’s clinic in Hickory, North Carolina now offers these therapies for people suffering with neuropathy.
