I have hashi …I also have reynauds and now i have vitiligo is there a direct connnection with these? Ur info is amazing thank u for sharing!

    • Jo-Ann Marie Reply

My daughter and I both have Hashimoto’s. She does have vitaligo around her eye lid area and I have psorisis on my fingers. There is a direct connection definitely! The moment I eat something that my immune system reacts to, it shows up on my hands. It is interesting how or why it attacks only certain areas of the body. Just when I think I have eliminated everything that I know that I am sensitive to, a new food reaction shows up. It is is very frustrating…but once I heal my leaky gut with Dr. Shook’s help I believe that this will heal as well.

Can you provide more info on connection between thyroid and hot flashes

  6. Lorinda Mutsaers Reply

    Hi from Australia.

  7. Beth Harville Reply

You are only going to be able to facilitate so many patients Dr Shook. You need to find a way to educate OTHER doctors in your research or its only going to reach people like me.. Who KNOWS this research is absolutely the WAY.. But I cannot order my own labs or write my own prescriptions. I need a doctor who understands this too.

Any thoughts on SIBO as it relates to Hashi’s? Does one cause the other?

  11. Sharon Regan Lewis Reply

All my numbers are good, still very fatigued and struggle with weight. I also have issues with the gall bladder, do these things point to a problem with the binding globulin (uptake of the T3 to the cells)?

  12. Sherry Christensen Reply

That would sure be nice!!! Thank you for your info.

  13. Sherrie Brown Reply

My body & brain is broken from all these diseases & I feel like I really am never going to get better!!! I’m barely hanging on by a string for a pretty long time now!!! I just want to die!!!

    • Jo-Ann Marie Reply

I am so sorry that you are feeling this way. Go take a warm lavender Epsom salt bath and put on soft quiet music or sounds of nature. Take some deep breaths and visualize exactly what you want. See it, hear it, feel it, smell it, and taste it. Then write long and short term goals down in a journal. The short term goals should be small steps that will get you to your long term goal of living a healthy and vital life. Know exactly what you want and stay focused and relentlessly determined! Please do not give up! You can do this, if I did! I hope that this helps. Hugs

  22. Kris Rosemann Cassens Reply

Dr Shook, we need to talk bout this video and my T4-T3 conversion issue and you knew findings.

  23. Lynn Miller Reply

Dr. Shook will this new research change the order of blood testing you do for example when you would consider ordering a lab work for food sensitivities etc.?

    • Danielle Donadoni Reply

      Wondering the same…

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

No, because you have to consider the factors leading to loss of oral tolerance to the foods. Basically, everything is connected. If you’ve lost oral tolerance to the foods that you’re consuming then you have a permeable gut wall and immune dysregulation. All of the things that I look for in testing can contribute to breakdown of a gut wall and loss of immune system tolerance. This research doesn’t change the way I practice because I’ve known for a few years that this was occuring and that these problems were going to be common in people that I work with. Hope that makes sense.

      • Danielle Donadoni

Is it possible to have an immune reaction to food proteins but then those food proteins don’t cross react with thyroid tissue or production? So if you show an immune reaction to gluten does that mean it will definitely cross react with the target site identified in the research?

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

Danielle, yes, you can react to the food but not cross-react to human tissue. The problem is that there is very little research on food proteins and the tissues they cross-react against. If you react to gluten that does not mean that you will cross-react with thyroid TPO.

      • Danielle Donadoni

Very interesting! It would make sense to eliminate those identified to cross react with human tissue as well as those we show immune sensitivity to based on the cyrex results. Are these results conclusive enough to say all Hashimoto’s patients should avoid specific foods? I’m nervous there won’t be any foods left to eat!

  24. Heather Smith Travis Reply

    So what do we eat

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

In cases where I work with people that don’t have testing I just have them stick with an Autoimmune Paleo diet or follow our transformation Community program.

  25. Jo-Ann Marie Reply

So sorry that I missed this last night. I am so excited about hearinng about this research….mind blowing! This is so ideal for me….wow!!!! I love Datis Kharrazian and Isabella Wentz!!!! It’s a good thing that it’s a teacher workday because I am completely overwhelmed with excitement! . Dr. Shook love your passion and excitement…..you ROCK! I love the the research you provide to us….bring it on! I found the link to the article if anyone needs it. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/jtr/2017/4354723/

  26. Danielle Donadoni Reply

Diana Donadoni please have dad watch

  27. Crystal Moore Reply

Is this research for Graves Disease too?

  28. Vera Kamphorst Reply

So I thought gluten cross reacted with anti tpo? Is that no longer the case?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Yes, it does cross-react. I don’t think they looked gluten in this paper. THey have researched gluten extensively and I believe this was in an attempt to look at foods commonly consumed on a gluten-free diet.

      • Vera Kamphorst

The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Ah! Thanks for that. I was put off guard when they mentioned no reactions to tpo!

      • Vera Kamphorst

Do you know where I can find the list of foods cross reacting with gluten and/or TPO? Reason I am asking is that I want to try cutting out alle crossreacting foods with thyroid for 2 or 3 months to see If this works for me. Thanx in advance for helping me out.

  29. AnnaKarin Bergman Reply

Very interesting information, great work from them! Thanks for this info and especially on “gum” some of them are also beneficial for the gut but this can show contraproductivity ..
