Your quality of life is important. Please find another doctor who cares. It may take time…ask a local nurse, visit a hospital and ask…for endo who is good. God bless.

My doctor was arrested for practicing medicine without a license I wish I met you first doctor

  11. Karla D. Stivers Reply

It is so hard to find doctors to deal correctly with these issues. You pay so much going to different doctors with no results.

  12. Martine Harris Reply

    Why is armour so expensive??

    • Sharon Flowers Reply

I’m not Dr. From what I’ve read, it’s all about Big Pharm and money. Google why prices are high…

  13. AK Terrill Reply

Why when labs show you need t3 and you take it does it then go to Rt3?

Why is it so difficult for mainstream docs to learn

  23. Jodi Conrad Reply

I started generic Armour a few weeks ago and I feel like I have been given my life back. Its not everyday I feel good, but its getting there. Took 3 years to find a doctor who would test T3 etc. Have found a holistic doctor who takes health insurance. I am truly blessed.

  24. Kay Bailey Davis Hagen Reply

I have severe osteoarthritis in several joints. Cervical and lumbar fusions. Total hip and knee replacement. Im only 48 and doctor’s are baffled. Could my thyroid be the cause of this?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hi Christine, I’m very sorry to hear that. I wouldn’t suspect your thyroid as much, but if you don’t have adequate thyroid hormone then that may contribute to poor bone density. Do you have problems with bone density? The other thing that I would consider is autoimmunity against the cells that produce bone. Are there any indications that your quantity of bone is a problem?

      • Christine Wightman

        My bone density is normal.

      • Christine Wightman

I was told yesterday to get checked for RA.

      • Christine Wightman

I was prescribed armour by my PCP.
The only test i ever got was TSH.
What other tests should be done ?

      • Kristie Marshall Dunn

Not the doc but, T3, T4,(total and free) and TPO

  54. Christy Olson Reply

I thought my new endo was going to be great until my visit last week (3rd visit) where she said my TSH and T4 were good so no other were needed any longer and no checking my liver. Last test, my rT3 was very elevated. I asked more questions and shared some info and she said “I don’t understand functional medicine!” And she said I was wasting my time & money. But you’ve helped me more than anyone. Thank you!

  55. Christine Neubauer Reply

ansewr to yur answer = my t4 is normal, my weight is 108, and i dont take hormones or steroids… nothing but synthroid, and i dont drink. is there a way to bring down liver enzymes?

On NP Thyroid. do I take it the day of blood world before or after blood work?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

All your doctor how they want you to test it. Some want you to take it before, others don’t.

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

The most common recommendation is to have your blood testing done before taking your thyroid medication as the thyroid medication may increase or skew your hormone test results. Also there’s evidence suggesting that you want to do the test early in the morning fasting because your TSH levels can change after eating and later in the day.

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Yes it is stimulating an immune response and yes I would remove it. Sometimes you don’t know unless you do testing to identify whether or not eating system is reaction to gluten always try eliminate it from your diet to see if you feel better
