      This van be a tough one, but the good news is there are things you can do to reduce stress. Something as simple as exercise, journaling, deep breathing, prayer, meditation, laughter can help to reduce stress. Hope this helps.

    My daughter who has had Hashi’s since the age of 8 has recently had problems with stress. She is now 33 and recently was in NYC with her business partner who caused her so much stress she had a breakdown, a really bad one. She vented with me after the week she spent in NYC and I thought had gotten it out of her system. Then the following night it started and by day 3, her boyfriend called me and asked me to please come over. My daughter had gone into a full-blown rage. She was screaming and acting out physically. I have NEVER see her like that. I made her concentrate on deep breathing for a while and could see she was calming down a bit. It took about 2 hours, I made her lunch and we talked and she finally calmed down. I explained to her how terrible stress is for Hashi patients, the cortisol, etc. It’s really scary when things like this happen – we all have to be aware of what’s happening and learn how to protect ourselves against whatever is causing the stress in our lives.
