Bio-identical hormone – pellets. Do you feel this is safe? I do feel stronger now, testosterone… I had stopped my thyroid med because I felt so strong. Had labs done after a month my level was at a 25! Doctor was shocked. My antibodies are lowering but when she saw the 25, told me to get back on my thyroid meds, 1.25 grains…

Unfortunately the pellets can have the same effect as hormones that are taken orally or transdermally. If you aromatize your testosterone into estrogen and you do not metabolize or clear from your body well then it does put you at greater risk.

The Office of Dr. Brad Shook at greater risk for what? I dont under stand…I just need to take time off and come up there!

Thank You and Bless You for sharing this! this is exactly where I’m at. I am seeing a functional medicine dr. and just finished a course of antibiotics to treat SIBO. I had no idea that sibo affected estrogen metabolism! I have uterine bleeding and my gyn is trying to determine cause. sibo may be it! I’m going to ask for the estrogen metabolite test at my next visit. what is treatment if I have high estrogen in my urine??

  19. The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Supplements like DIM and I3C are commonly used.

Please be careful. Not everyone who uses the title “Dr.” Is actually an MD ( medical doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor.) I highly recommend consulting with board certified OBGYN and/or Endocrinology specialist (as well as your Primary Physician!) instead.

Hi Patti! thanks for the recommendation! I’m seeing a functional medicine dr. at Cleveland Clinic main campus.
.Dr Bergman, DO. great Dr…I love the holistic/ medical treatment I’ve received from him and seeing positive results for the first time in years. He does a wonderful job directing me to other health care providers as needed. I feel so blessed to not just have answers, but solutions, too. I had never heard of functional medicine before Dr. Shook . I credit him for helping to point me in the right direction. He is also a fellow Hashimoto sufferer and shares about his personal journey to wellness, which has proven invaluable to me.

      • Patti Nadsady

Perfect Darlene! I’m glad you have a local physician who partners with you and makes
You feel heard and empowered in your care!!!
