    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

GREAT POINT!I forgot to mention sleep apnea. Thanks Randy!

      • Rose McCloskey

The Office of Dr. Brad Shook I think I might have sleep apnea, is there any way of testing for it apart from doing an overnight sleep test in hospital?

      • Randy Correia

Rose McCloskey yes I’ve had a over night sleep study they said once I held my breath for 2 mins 27 secs that’s nuts but it’s really bad for you carbon monoxide levels high & low oxygen levels in your blood. I sleep with a CPAP mask that forces me to breath. But this doesn’t help me sleep but when used your sleep is quality. But I wear a sleep mask over my eyes. I fall to sleep easier plus now I sleep past sunrise. God bless take care of yourself

What were the supplements you suggested to use before bed

  26. Randy Correia Reply

I’ve missed you doctor I’ve had bad throat pain my ENT had a ultrasound done that showed I had 7 nodules on my thyroid. I agreed to have it removed but the result was what I thought. No improvement my throat still hurts. I’ve had a big lump behind my chin. This hurts but also it seems like my lymph nodes. Ultrasound showed no foreign mass. It feels like someone is squeezing my throat. It seems like a shot of whiskey helps numb it. Thinking it might be inside my throat I told my ENT this. His advice was take 2 shots. I’m not a drinker in fact that shot was my 1st drink since 1981 a truck hit me head on while on my motorcycle. I had 23 broken bones, 5 dislocations & a severe concussion. I had one doctor tell me to use medical marijuana. Being a Dad like yourself I don’t think I want to send this message to them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. God bless you Dr. Shook

I use magnesium oxide and sometime tylenol to help me sleep. But sometimes nothing helps

    • Karen Gowins Brenneman Reply

Magnesium oxide is a terrible form of magnesium unless you are constipated. It’s not absorbed well and goes right thru you

      • Jennifer Steele

No, it doesn’t help you go. That’s magnesium sulfate. There are many different forms of magnesium that do different things. It absorbs fine. It cured my TMJ. The only thing that worked and only took 1 week. It has not returned.
