We have been seeing some amazing results with patients, and we had another example of what one treatment has the potential to do just today, her is what happened. Today we had an 81 year old male patent with 4 lumbar bulging discs and spinal stenosis at multiple levels. He had leg pain at 9 of 10 with 10 being the worst pain possible. On his first treatment we were able to decrease his pain to a 5 of 10 and he was able to walk better immediately. The patient had a previous lumbar diskectomy and laminectomy spinal surgery that was considered successful 10 years ago, but his pain has returned and is worse. Improvement on the first treatment is not expected and is only to determined to see how you will respond to a low dose treatment initially. The improvement on the first treatment session points to a good outcome for this patient. Again, the first treatment is to establish your tolerance to the therapy, and to see if you are going to be sore or have a negative response, either way, it is very low in dose so that we ease you into treatment (something you learn through certification training).
We have several advanced treatment options for patients. Though the older tables do work well, and some cost $100,000 and have colorful and elaborate boxing and computer screens, they are still an older generation table that forces you to adjust the patient to the table, not the table to the patient. Certification training and research prior to buying a spinal decompression therapy table is extremely important. I read everything I could find on these tables before I made a decision, and I couldn’t be happier about our new generation decompression table, it has been amazing with patients that cannot lay flat on their back on stomach.
