What a great opportunity. Can you give us your take on how targeting TSH is keeping me ill. I’m having to work around doctors who don’t treat my symptoms…that are relieved by t3 but then TSH is unacceptable to conventional doctors. I think I have some kind of cells resistance which conventional medicine would keep me ill.

My english is not so good, so excuse me for that 🙂 i would like to know about manny nodes on the thyroid. I have lot of them and dont know how they can mess up my health.

I always feel like a limp noodle. I have no physical energy to do anything more than raise my kids and get all of the daily life stuff done. I am now gluten and dairy free and would like to start an AIP buy this seems overwhelming to me. I have lost 10 pounds but can not seem to get anything else off. Working out hasn’t even been an option for me due to migraines and zero energy left to function at all. It’s a never ending roller-coaster I am stuck on.

I am 2nd generation of 3 (my mom, myself & both of my daughters) suffering most symptoms if not all of them (onset of symptoms at different ages). After 13 yrs (me age 44) 9 yrs (my now 17 yr old daughter) & about 15 yrs (my 64 yr old mother) where also diagnosed with sero negative anklying spondylo arthritis. It was only due to a fluke unrelated issue that we ended up in a wonderful rheumatologist’s office ( having seen others in the past, with no diagnosis other than clinical depression & anxiety & given anti depressants that onlymade horrible symptoms much worse). In 2 visits this new Dr had my daughter & I diagnosed & started on proper medications for the ASA. But for yrs we have been suffering many symptoms that don’t fit this diagnosis, & is much more similar to thyroid issue symptoms. Hashimototos & thyroid cancer both run on my mom’s side of the family (same side as the ASA). So i have been doing as much research as I can on my own because the majority of Dr’s, even the “specialists” don’t LISTEN to the SYMPTOMS of us the patients. I recently found your page & have watched all of your videos. They have all made so much sense & put the few, but VERY IMPORTANT pieces of the puzzle in the right spots to bring a clearer picture into focas. I have read/heard in a couple different places other than your videos as well that if you have 1 auto immune issue, it is very possible, likely even that another may follow. Your video about the 3 stages of Hashimotos was like hitting the lottery, then losing the winning ticket. With that, I mean that it explains alot. How we have all the symptoms, labs are not off enough for the dr to acknowledge or treat anything. So I’m thinking my daughter & are in stage 2, my mom just hit stage 3, with enough destruction for the Dr to now be taking it seriously & sending her all over the place for ultrasounds, biopsies, more blood work, etc. ect. My frustration is so huge. If the information is out there, & there are some Dr’s ( like yourself) who have made the sacrifice to study, research, & learn, so as to truly help the very patients who are seeking help from them. Then why is it such a slow if not stagnant progression for the rest of the medical community to catch on/up? Why must millions of people who know beyond a shadow of doubt that something isn’t functioning right ( who knows their body better than themselves) be made to continue to suffer until stage 3 when it’s most likely too late to slow down, stop, or even give the chance to improve the damage. I am fighting so hard to get help. Not even so much for myself, but for my 17 yr old daughter who has a whole lot of living left to do with many dreams yet to be fullfilled. She already has 1 auto immune disease that she suffered 9 yrs through without proper treatment to try & decrease or slow it down. I’m doing my darnedest not to let that happen a 2nd time. But it is virtually impossible when all the Dr’s you have access to are either ignorant or arrogant, a lot of times both. I was flat out dismissed by an Endocrinologist for asking a few questionsabout all of my symptoms & my positive antibodies after he told me there was no reason I should have been sent to see him. Again I feel helpless while trying to fight for my daughters health. And it’s as though the Dr’s hold all the power & the cards where her health is concerned, as she continues to suffer through absolutely no fault of her own. It is not right, it is not fair, & it is BS! I am however very thankful for the few Dr’s out there like you Dr. Shook, who are trying your best to help as many people as you can. Even if it can only be through your educational videos ( for those of us who aren’t anywhere close to your practice. I’m in Las Vegas, Nv.) They have been so helpful, & empowering to a certain degree. I wish there was a list of Dr’s who know, treat, & understand things as you do, so we could find one as close to us as possible & at least have a chance at a more normal functional life.Thank you again, it is so deeply appreciated!!!!!

How does or can Hashimoto’s or a thyroid condition can attack the brain mental functions to get so out of control for the hashimotos never found that so many doctors are quick to misdiagnosed you as having some kind of mental condition like a type of Bipolar, depression, schezophrenia, Parkinson, Dementia or your having so many symptom all over the place they can’t even figure out which bipolar type you have. Just to put you on all kinds of medications that are not helping makes you worse, Just to find out you have hashimotos in the end. I don’t know if I explained it in a way for you to understand my question. But this happen to 3 of my daughters. I don’t know yet where the Hashimoto’s is coming from yet either. Please explain how this is happening to people. My daughters are doing better mentally not on those kinds of medications for mental conditions. Taking thyroid medications & they are vitamin D deficient, potassium deficit on Prescription vitamin D2 50,000iud. My father has been diagnosed with Parkinson & among other things happening to him like dementia signs. He is not getting better he is getting worse. It all has happen very quickly within a years time. He had symtoms over the years now that I know more that he could have a thyroid problem that has gone undiagnosed he is only 67 years old. I want to get him the right help that I feel he isn’t getting & medications are making him worse he on. Please can this really happen to a person? Explain please???

I have read that thyroid problem can mimic bipolar disorder…..please explain how that works.
