    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Lydia, I understand and that’s why we have to work to change the system to support the health care that we want.

It’s so hard to get doctors to understand, when you have gravis and myasthenia doctors act like they are terrified to touch or treat me

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Margaret, I’m sorry you’re having so much difficulty getting help. Myasthenia gravis is a serious autoimmune condition. Anytime I’ve worked with someone that’s autoimmune we always a very extensive testing and try to be as specific as possible.

      • Margaret Brown Chisolm

It really is and locally no one wants to even treat a common cold, one doctor tried to prescribe muscles relaxers , I explained it wasn’t a good mix with the Mestinon he replied what is that, I tried to explain everything again he said I had to drive 3 hours to my doctor that prescribed it to my, I had Contusions of the ribs

  10. Lucinda Douglas Reply

Thank you for this. I have had a heart dissection and valve replacement and have thyroid disease. The primary care providers I have been to in Daytona seem to write off all my symptoms. How do I get the doctors to take me serious?

  11. June Jarman Maige Reply

    Hi Dr. Brad,
A poser…my lab results show low tsh and my doctor cot my armour thyroid back. Is that right???

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

June, when TSH is low it suggests that your thyroid hormone levels are too high. TSH is made by the pituitary gland and it goes down when your thyroid levels go up, so typically if your TSH is low than it suggests that you are on too high of a dose of your hormone that’s why they lowered it.

You definitely don’t want to be hyper because it can create a lot of problems too.

      • June Jarman Maige

The Office of Dr. Brad Shook THANK YOU! I’ve been eating organic for 7 years, eating gluten free, nightshade free and low sugar (stevia) to help with Hashimotos. I do as much as I can but… I am 5’5 and weigh 98-102 lbs. What can I eat to gain? I’m also sensitive to dairy. I still drink lain kefir. Can you suggest something? I’ll try anything.

Your video is sideways to me

  13. Betsy Barbacow Reply

Yes!! When I asked for testing outside of my just tsh which was always normal, but felt horrible for years. Now I have a doc who tested everything, even a1c and antibodies, which came back positive and said I’m now Hashimoto. My endocrinologist wants me to get a cortisol stimulation test in July, says mine is low. I feel from watching your videos I’m on my way of getting myself back getting all the right stuff looked at.

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Darenda, it’s an autoimmune condition that is often found with Hashimoto’s and autoimmune thyroid condition.

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

Anytime there is autoimmunity it is the top priority … addressing anything that drives the immune resonse is important to help lower inflammatory levels
