Thank you, Dr. Shook. So, how do we get checked for auto immunity? Is there other tests besides the normal thyroid test that shows auto immunity? I’m going to my Rheumatologist next Monday, and I need help. My thyroid tests always comeback normal, with the exception of one time it showed positive for auto immune. They rechecked it and stated it was a false positive. In the mean time, I continue (as I have for years), to feel terrible at times. It’s so frustrating…I truly enjoy your posts, thank you for all your advice!

Any thoughts on this dr Brad Shook

That’s a complex question that would require a lot of history to better answer. What has your doctor recommended? How do you feel at those levels?

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

Sorry for the delay on responding, but we can’t get to everyone due to all of the messages we receive on a daily basis. Some of these questions are also far too complicated to be answered with any kind of accuracy because the problems are complex and so are the answers. Hope this helps.

I’m getting tested for hashimotos, and I asked the Dr, so how do you treat it, if I have it? -He said I’m already being treated for it, by taking my thyroid meds

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Yes unfortunately that is the only tool available in allopathic or traditional medicine. What you have to do is address the drivers of the autoimmune process and work on putting it in remission or significantly dampening the process so that you don’t have continued destruction of the thyroid and possible expansion of the autoimmunity to other tissues. The good news is that you can significantly improve your quality of life and a lot of people can actually feel better and have better quality of life after they’ve gone through the dietary changes and investigation of their health needed to address Hashimoto’s. I hope this helps, have a wonderful day!

Yes, Thanks. I remember some years ago I was being really strict with my diet to lose weight, and after watching your video I realized, that me cutting everything out caused my body to be healthier and work better, and the weight was literally falling off.

So… What can be done about THAT? The inflammation stuff? If thyroid numbers are good because of medication, what addresses the inflammation issue? Thank you for identifying that but what does one actually do to fix it? If anything.
