If you have hashimotos but have your thyroid removed due to cancer….can you still have symptoms of Hashimotos?

  7. Mel Ann Reply

Hi how long does the levels in hashimotos stabilize. Still having TSH at 8.2 ugh it’s a real struggle

I had a testosterone injection mine was too low but I don’t want another one do not like side effects. I gained 11# in 2 weeks that possible? No diet change

  16. Bridget Mullins Reply

You are so right on about all of this!

  17. Kim Guthrie Reply

I thought if I had an autoimmune disease then inflammation would be present. Is this not necessarily true? Do I still need to be tested for inflammation? I’m experiencing terrible psoriasis right now so thought there must be inflammation somewhere.

  18. Bridget Mullins Reply

What do you think about inflammation and breast implant illness? A lot of talk about it and driving autoimmune diseases

  19. Misty Eastridge Reply

    Hi doc

  20. Joie Marie Greene Reply

I’m not gonna watch this yet. But tell me its the men..partners…we r with causing and infuriating autoimmune disease…rising cortisol levels…or…that’s just me?

    • Kim Guthrie Reply

I hear what you’re saying. And chuckling a little. However, I think it’s more about how we react/respond to the men/partners in our lives. Which then means… it’s our responsibility to evolve and develop ourselves so we are not impacted by others in our life. Please don’t get me wrong… this is challenging, takes time and hard work, I’m still working on it. It’s so much easier to ask others to change. He he.

It was 3am my time when the video started so I saved it… Still didn’t watch it… Not sure if he even touched on what I said …but , while I love everything he says becuase he always supports it so well, if he doesn’t assume most the culprit is what I mentioned, I’m gonna have to disagree lol

  21. Bridget Mullins Reply

On hydrocortisone for low cortisol weaning off only been on for a few months still can’t keep glucose up even though thyroid shows in range

  22. Bridget Mullins Reply

Yes I grew up in 70’s we lived around pesticides!!!

  23. Kim Guthrie Reply

I’ve heard we have DDT in our blood stream as a result of it being carried through the bloodline, even though DDT is not used now.

  24. Raquel Morales Reply

    Wow fascinating ended

  25. Kim Guthrie Reply

I’m not surprised individuals have no idea where to start to heal. The human body is so complex. If we can’t access tests easily (affordability and accessibility and finding a doctor to run the tests), it’s an uphill battle. Sigh!

  26. Wendy Heithoff Afshari Reply

Every doctor talk to I’m fine and they’ve tested everything you just listed!!

  27. Teresa Wirtz Reply

    Hi there!

  28. Kim Guthrie Reply

I think we really need to take responsibility for how we live our life and the speed in which we live it. Living a slower pace of life to reduce illness and disease and increase longevity.

  29. Kim Guthrie Reply

Perhaps we need a video on what can be the causes of inflammation…

  30. Kim Guthrie Reply

This is exceptionally helpful. Thank you.

Dr Shook is it possible to have full on inflammatory symtoms but the CRP test comes back normal?
    Thankyou

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

HI Kerry. It depends on your definition of normal. I consider CRP levels over 1 to be functionally elevated, though the lab range is typically 0 to 3, with levels over 3 being lab high.

I would also look at homocysteine levels as have the potential to disrupt cellular sensitivity.

There are a lot of potential issues that can disrupt thyroid hormone physiology. It’s nearly impossible to guess at possible causes, you need biomarkers to better determine possible mechanisms.

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

        Hope this helps

      • Kerry Witmitz

Thankyou so much Dr Shook, you’re a Star!
I’ll certainly look into this and keep your advice in mind with any further tests.
And thankyou so much for talking about plastics and environmental factors my Endocrinologist is unhelpful.
        Thanks again ☆

Hi The Office of Dr. Brad Shook! Do you have any research or experience with HPV infections and Hashimoto’s?

I’m 31 and I’ve gotten my TPO antibodies down to 35 (600 at diagnosis) with your protocols but now I’m battling cervical dysplasia. I’m wondering if my PH may be off or if Hashimoto’s is causing my immune system to lack on clearing the hpv. Any insight as always is greatly appreciated.
