Had no idea about gluten in generic Synthyroid…no wonder it made me sick! Thanks…keep sending out this good info!

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

I had someone contact me today and tell me that it no longer has gluten in it, so I am going to research it and I’ll post an update and let you guys know. Interestingly, I am attending a weekend-long seminar on mastering the thyroid and that is one of the things that we’re going to be going over tomorrow, additives and excipients in thyroid medications.

I am a mom of two. Just had my second child eight months ago. I went through a lot of trauma right after I had him. I have had some form of ailment almost every month since giving birth to get me down and I have not been able to exercise. Different kinds of infections. (ear, sinus, bacteria vaginal, acute bronchitis.) On supplements B12, D2, and adaptogens because all these levels were extremely low. Thyroid Free T3 were good. I take Nature Thyroid. I stay away from Gluten as much as I can with time and finances. A Couple weeks ago blood test confirmed EBV was ACTIVE again. Yes, mono relapse at age 36, and there is no way to tell how long I have had it. Most likely a couple months. I am bigger than I have ever been (especially my mid section) and I hate who I see in the mirror. I see myself as deformed and I don’t have a waist at all. Went to see a surgeon to see if he would do a tummy tuck. I was told this wasn’t an option because I haven’t lost weight from being morbidly obese. I need to lose 30-50 lbs. How can I lose weight when I can’t exercise. I don’t want to watch my kids grow up from the couch. Been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, Fibro, CFS, Adrenal Fatigue etc. Three years prior to my second child I saw a diagnostic nutritionist, endocrinologist, and my Primary Nurse Practitioner. I was doing better before my pregnancy. Seems like my pregnancy was a HUGE TRIGGER. Any suggestions?? What about IV Therapy??

Do you know of any good thyroid doctors in the UK? I feel im at breaking point and need the right support. I’ve just come off levo and now taking Ndt by self medicating. I can’t get help on the Nhs, im happy to find a private doctor but don’t know how to find a good one that knows about thyroid like you do

    Hello
    I see a rheumatologist presently.
They say I have a autoimmune disease .
7 yrs ago I was having severe pain in my back and stomach.
Went to ER. I had scans done and they had finally found I had inflammation that was circling around my abdominal aorta.
They sent me to Emery, in GA.
Performed several test and ruled out taykasu (sp).
I had been put on high doses of prednisone and methatrexate.
    It went in remission.
But when I stopped the meds because I got very sick to my stomach
    The pain came right back.
Went back for a scan and sure enough there it was again
The office of Dr. Brad cook have you heard of anything or seen anything like what I have?
I had moved to another state
And had to get a new rheumatologist and he has never seen or heard of this. He has spoke to his fellow rheumatologist and shared my story.
    Thanks for your time

    Hello!
Is Vitiligo related to gluten intolerance since is autoinmune condition?

I recently went to a neurologist, ultimately due to the fact my GP had no idea what is going on, and the neurologist believes I have IIH (Idiopathic intercranial Hypertension). This is the first thing I have found to resemble many of the issues I am going through. I had/do believe I have a secondary autoimmune disease. My question, because I was unable to find any research about thyroid disease and IIH, is there any relationship between IIH and Hashimoto’s? It just seems that, if this is an accurate diagnosis, I feel that the two disorders flared up around the same time.

Are you referring to Candida in the gut? And I had no clue about plastic bottles….what about canned drinks?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hi Jana. Canned drinks are great either due to the fact that aluminum is another known toxin in our environment. Aluminum has been linked to some neurological problems. Glass bottled drinks would be preferable.

Thank you, Ive done a similar program to yours, and it absolutely works, excellent, I felt so much better. But I fell off the wagon. I have trouble sticking to the foods that work for me. Sugar is my biggest obstacle.

Wow, I have been on a gluten free and grain free diet for over four months but I didn’t think about my Levothyroine pill having a gluten binder in it. I get tested next month on my TPO antibodies.
