Hashimoto’s is the most common cause of hypothyroidism! 90% of hypothyroid cases are caused by Hashimoto’s!
Dr. Shook recommends that you start by looking at the labs you have already had done to get an idea of what could be happening to your thyroid. He created this guidebook to help you: “The 9 Tests Required to Understand Your Thyroid” https://hashimotosdoctor.com/free-book-pageqpuqvcr1
One of the most common symptoms that we see in the office is hair loss. There are so many things to consider that can cause hair loss, so Dr. Shook created a guidebook to help you better understand what you might need to do: https://hashimotosdoctor.com/free-book-page

I have hashimoto and I’m on synthroid but I’m still so lethargic. What do you suggest? Testing for other conditions?
HI Wendi. You need very thorough testing of the thyroid at a minimum, but other problems could be contributing to your fatigue. Did you see a link the “9 Tests Required to Understand Your Thyroid?” That is where I would start with understanding testing and what is needed. Anemia, blood sugar, adrenal and hormonal problems could also be contributing. Here is a link to get the lab guidebook (It’s $7 if you want it) https://hashimotosdoctor.com/free-book-pageqpuqvcr1. If you have nay other questions just let me know. Have a good day.
Does your office take military insurance like Tricare?
Hi, Susanna. We don’t take insurance because these services are considered “not medically necessary.” You can read about working with us here: https://drbradshook.com/new-patient-center/ Hope this helps.
Good morning
Can you talk about EBV I have that and I would like to know more about it
Hi Sarah, yes I will cover that soon. Have a nice day.
The Office of Dr. Brad Shook thank you so much!
