Would your dietary program work well after total thyroidectomy?

    • Brad Shook Reply

Hi, Amy. It depends on what your primary problems are. It might be a better idea to have an initial appointment so that I could get a better idea of what is happening. If you have recent labs I would have you include those with your intake packet. Wish I could tell you more, but I need more information. Hope this helps.

I wish my brain worked as fast as yours. You are so smart. 🙂

Hi, Princess. Thank you for the compliment. My brain gets tired too, and sometimes I just ramble on in these videos making it confusing for everyone :). Have a good night.

I’m interested in your program & I’m also interested in you taking my bloodwork lol not sure how to go about this since I live in CT, and pricing since chances are you don’t accept my insurance.

Hey Dr. Shook!! I had my thyroid surgically removed due to Graves. Would you recommend your 6 week program and the blood work info to someone without a thyroid? If so, I am interested in both. Thanks for all you do for us thyroid sufferers.

    • Brad Shook Reply

Hi, Jessica. My program is designed to decrease inflammation, balance blood sugar and support GI tract health. I have used this program to support a lot of autoimmune clients and patients and it works very well. Some people need more than dietary and lifestyle changes though and additional testing and support are needed to best help them.

Do you treat patients with no thyroid? I am looking for a doc that prescribes ndt and tests more than tsh. I have been looking for a doc like you that is knowledgeable about thyroid issues to help me put my health and body back together since my thyroidectomy. Doctors near me are hopeless.

This may be a stupid question but would labs that take a lot of under active patients blood work normalize the data to account for a higher % of under active results? I ask because there is a lab here in the UK that has been recommended on a few websites and offers discounts for people that who follow thyroid.uk. Wouldn’t this skew the ‘in range’ results slightly to the under active side of things if the bulk of the results come up as under active? Thanks in advance for you help!

    • Brad Shook Reply

Hi, Kristen. I haven’t ever thought about the high percentage of underactive results skewing the average lower. Great point! I think more research needs to be done to know for sure. This is one of the reasons that I use ideal ranges too. This way I can compare you to what are believed to be healthy labs.

      • Kristen O'Connell

It’s the economist in me that made me think that. But I’m sure the ideal ranges would address that issue in many ways. Thanks for getting back to me!
