I find it stressful because I have friends that don’t put weight on. Never have to worry about their weight. Then they ask me to go out for food. If I don’t go I don’t see anyone. So I am thinking. Maybe do that once a week. I am on a high Protein diet and doing the gym. I had a break and I feel dreadful for it so I am back on it. I think alot of restaurant’s don’t get it.

  11. Christy OBrien Reply

I lost 100 lbs and I’m struggling with losing and gaining the last 15 lbs. I can gain 10 lbs in one week and it’s takes 4 weeks to come off. It a constant battle. I pretty much have to starve myself to keep it off. I have hoshimoto and PCOS

  12. Marie Tomlinson Reply

Had a Thyroidectomy three years ago due to the doctor’s not be able to control my levels. But I have put weight on. I also think I have problems with my pancreas. If I eat any rubbish I get pain. I have ibs. I am on full strength hestamines and vitamin D and iron. 150mg thyroxine. I am sure everyone feels fed up like me.

  13. Robyn Noftsger Reply

I recently dropped added sugar, alcohol and gluten out of my diet completely. I made a commitment to whole, home cooked foods- nothing processed. I have noticed a slight change in my sleeping for the better and I am starting to feel better. But it took about a month before I noticed any real difference. I’m just trying to eat for health and trying to treat food as medicine.

    • Maria Yapelli Reply

Robyn Noftsger It will only get better with time.

I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. I have been experimenting with diet and I have kept track of my lab work and I also requested tests of my TPO antibodies. I looked through all my labs and came to the conclusion for me that consuming dairy was driving my antibodies to go up. I also figured out when I did a ketogenic diet that my antibodies dropped down fast. Maybe it has something to do with SIBO. Anyway, my TPO antibodies were 240 and now they are 111. If I get the antibodies below 35 on my lab test, my autoimmune disease will be gone. I may still have just Hypothyroidism but I have seen videos of people saying they were able to get their thyroids working again. Those people were using a raw vegan diet. I am just avoiding dairy and keeping my blood sugar low as possible. I am hoping I will have my TPO antibodies down by Christmas.

    • Jeannie Cumbie Starling Reply

Dee Miller-Kunis do you eat gluten? I have tried gluten free for a year and a half and I was still very sick.

      • Dee Miller-Kunis

Jeannie Cumbie Starling I went gluten free for an entire year and that had no affect on me. It was only dairy that was driving my antibodies.

      • Dee Miller-Kunis

Jeannie Cumbie Starling have you had your TPO antibodies tested? 90% if people with Hypothyroidism have the autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis that is causing your thyroid to become hypo. Try to stop the attack on your thyroid by the antibodies. Go dairy free and do a ketogenic diet. Have your TPO antibodies tested periodically.

      • Jeannie Cumbie Starling

Dee Miller-Kunis maybe that is my issue as well.

      • Dee Miller-Kunis

Jeannie Cumbie Starling it is very possible.

      • Dee Miller-Kunis

Jeannie Cumbie Starling since I stopped all dairy, my antibodies have been steadily going down. It was going down faster when I did the Atkins diet which is pretty much a keto diet. Keep your blood sugar low. My TPO antibodies numbers were at 240 and now at 111 this month. If I get it below 35, I will no longer have an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. It may be possible to get my thyroid working again. So far, three months ago, my doctor lowered my thyroid medication because I became hyper for the first time ever.

I have slow transit Gi. I have graves post partial thyroid removal. I do feel better with a t3 added. I agree with the diet being a big factor.
