Tip #2 How To Prevent Hair Loss With Hashimoto’s and Hypothyroidism

    Would accupunture help?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

I don’t know if that is addressing a mechanism of your hair loss then I would say yes. Without knowing what’s driving or causing the problem it would be really really hard to say if any intervention would be beneficial. Hope this helps.

The Office of Dr. Brad Shook yes it was regarding hair loss. Thanks for the reply. I had papillary cancer and thyroidectomy and then coming up to have radiation. But have had quite a bit of hair loss and was curious

I’m not sure, but acupuncture has a lot of benefits.

I’m either burning up or freezing to death. The longer you have this disease the worse the symptoms become. Until you’re accurately treated, that helped me a lot anyway

      • Smith-Evans Donna

Tonya Justice what did they say why u were hot . This has affected me so bad

      • Tonya Justice

Donna Smith it’s just part of the disease. We are cold and heat intolerant because the autoimmune disease affects our blood vessels. My gynecologist put me on progesterone and that seems to be helping me a lot also.

      • Smith-Evans Donna

Ok thanks I just started my journey swith this and it’s just all to much for me at times .

      • Tonya Justice

Donna Smith I highly recommend taking the vitamin black cohosh for this too. I recommended it to my sis in law and she told me that she has very few hot flashes now… And she can actually sleep through the night.

      • Smith-Evans Donna

I’ve tried that too does not help me at all .

While gland is under attack, your t4 and t3 depo from the thyroid can be released all at once and you can have symptoms of hyperthyroidism, hence feeling hot etc. The waves come and go as long as your gland is under attack from your malfunctioning immune system.

      • Tonya Justice

Donna Smith it could possibly be anxiety related. With a low thyroid the body doesn’t know how to regulate itself. Our bodies don’t know how to manage stress… Hence high blood pressure, and anxiety/panic attacks.. Or regulate our bodies temperature. The thyroid gland controls every single cell in our body… Including eye sight, smell, and our muscles, and it causes muscle deterioration. There are over 300 diseases and illnesses associated with or the direct cause of having a low thyroid, Over half of the ppl that have this disease don’t even know it due to inaccurate testing, and misdiagnosis. It’s an epidemic, and it’s slowly killing us.

So what do we need to do to have better blood circulation? Are there certain vitamins that we should take that will help?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

If it is due to an autoimmune process then you have to dampen the autoimmunity so that you stop suppressing the eNOS system which will decrease blood flow.

      • Kristea Crouse

So do we ask our doctors how to dampen the autoimmunity?

  7. Tonya Justice Reply

What about Livedo Reticularis? Is there anything at all we can do for that??

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Tonya, I would have to research it.

Thank you! Please, please do! I spent years trying to figure out what it was. No doctor that I asked (and I asked many) could tell me. They all said they didn’t know what it was. After a decade, It was a physicians assistant that could finally tell me. Although he didn’t tell me the cause of it just the name. I now know the cause, but no one has been able to tell me how I can treat it. I do know that left untreated it will only get worse.
