Thank you so much for taking the time to help us with information and words of encouragement during our struggles with our thyroids and autoimmunes. I wish I was closer to be able to be seen by your office. Keep up the great work. Huge respect.

Thank you for sharing. It is so frustrating. Just yesterday took my daughter to have blood work done to check for other autoimmune diseases besides the Hashimotos that she has and when I said to the doctor so what do we do to get her antibodies down from the hashi’s she said oh there’s nothing we do for that. Glad I found your site and the Hashimotos group! It really has been an eye opener and we have been getting a lot of great info.

Thank you so much for posting these videos. 21 yrs ago when I was 14, I had a huge thyroid goiter, I was dx with Graves and my parents chose for me to do RAI treatment based upon my Dr’s recommendation. That worked and I was fine until after I had my daughter 6 yrs ago. Right after giving birth I went into a thyroid storm, developed reactive hypoglycemia and acute gastritis. I then switched to Armour after being on levothyroxine for 15 yrs prior. I felt great for 3 1/2 yrs on Armour and all of a sudden bam…. I was unable to get my levels under control on Armour anymore, my hair was falling out, anxiety, and all of the great symptoms that come along with it. So, I switched back to synthroid 2 yrs ago. I’m still dealing with hair loss, anxiety, reactive hypoglycemia and gastritis. My endocrinologist that I have now doesn’t believe in NDT so I’m stuck on levothyroxine. I want to try Naturethroid because I have been trying to go more natural in life and with my diet, etc.
My question to you is, do you prescribe NDT to your patients and could these other conditions I have been caused by my autoimmune? TIA

Tina, we don’t actually prescribe any medicine in our office. We have programs designed to support your thyroid function and we sometimes suggest temporary supplementation on a case by case basis, but no prescription drugs. And as to your other question, yes, it could be possible that your other symptoms may be caused by your autoimmunity. That is why we address the root cause, because there are often many other symptoms that can be addressed at the same time when addressing the root cause. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your quick reply. So, in my case would you be able to take me on as a patient since I had RAI and rely on daily thyroid meds? My history is actually a lot more in depth than I originally stated. I don’t think fb would allow that many characters, ha. For example, I can’t even take a Vit D pill without it making me feel horrible.

Tina, we could definitely set up an initial consultation to see if you are a good candidate for our programs. Please follow this link to learn more about our fees and scheduling procedures: https://drbradshook.com/new-patient-center/

I just got my blood test results back. I’ve been on synthroid for 8 years and recently switched to armour. My TSH level this time was a 14.2. Free T4 was .70 and they ran the TPO antibodies test. My level was 1,040!! I don’t see dr til next week but does this mean I have hashimotos?

    • Janet Paulsen Swanson Reply

Yes I believe you are! My thyroid peroxidase antibody is 358. I’ve seen different numbers. If over 30, I’ve I saw was if over 9. Doc says Hashimoto’s. Have found a couple great sites to get info from.

I’ve been trying to read up on it. It’s a lot of info. Did you Go gluten free?

Thank you for keeping these videos coming. I really appreciate your knowledge on this. I’m in the UK and the autoimmune aspect of Hashimoto’s is also ignored here and doctors don’t understand that thyroid meds uptake is poor for some of us…they are keeping us so ill. Thanks to people like you, I’m getting my life back.
