Since I’ve had hashimoto for 20+ yrs and seem to be getting worse what would you do for me? I’ve spent so much money trying to get better and right now nothing is working!! I take nature-thyroid and supplements I am at my wits end!!

Hi Sarah, sorry you are having so many problems. I would first look at your history, and then I would likely recommend additional labs. Once those labs results were returned I would review them, and discuss the possible ways you may want to consider approaching your problems. Possible approaches to improving your health typically include diet, supplementation, advanced laboratory testing. Hope this helps. Have a nice day.

I’ve had half of my thyroid removed. Still don’t know why they didn’t remove the whole thing! I feel like crap everyday even taking 37.5 mg of Synthroid!

Does taking creatine have any affect on thyroid medication/ hormone? I read it increases the cells metabolism, so wouldn’t that affect how much t4 one would need to take?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hi Robert. Creatine supports mitochrondrial function. I take it daily, but not in super high doses. I’m sure of any directly linked studies between T4 output and creatine, but I’ll look into it. pubmed.gov is a great place to look. Hope this helps.

I am very frustrated with always having thyroid issues. My thyroid was killed off 17 years ago. Can’t seem to get meds regulated. Want more info from you.
