What the Blue Dress Says About Your Brain Health

What color do you see?

Why can’t you see the blue dress?

THe Blue Dress
Today I’m in Charlotte, NC in a functional medicine class called “Mastering The Brain” with some of the leading doctors in the country, and the topic of why the blue dress is seen as a different color by different people came up. Without getting too technical, if you see the blue dress as gold and white, you may have a problem with your brain neurotransmitters (chemicals that run your brain and nervous system). Just to clarify, not necessarily a disease process, but more likely a deficiency or imbalance.

There are numerous factors that can contribute to an imbalance in brain neurotransmitters (too many to list here), but here is a short list of what can cause imbalance:

  1. Inflammation and Autoimmunity
  2. Anemia
  3. Blood Sugar (low or high)
  4. Intestines and Liver
  5. Fat Absorption (lack of)

Imbalances in these areas don’t just cause you difficulty with being able to see the blue dress, but they contribute to poor health and chronic disease. Functional Medicine seeks to identify these imbalances so that you can address the causes of these problems before they become a diagnosable disease processes.

The instructor of my class is Dr. Brandon Brock. Dr. Brock is truly a very special teacher, and I am extremely lucky and fortunate to learn from someone with such a strong understanding of the brain, including phsyiology and experience in helping those with brain injuries (TBIs – traumatic brain injuries) and numerous psychological and chronic degenerative disorders (Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease) with nutraceuticals, pharmacology and functional neurology. Our class had about 50 doctors in attendance, and quiet frankly we should have been in a stadium with every health care provider in the South East United States in attendance either in person or via live video feed. Dr. Brock’s teachings are truly up to the minute science with real-time patience experience that includes contemporary and personal research woven into what he teaches. I have learned no less than 30 additional ways to help me improve and preserve my own brain health in ways that are 100% natural and cutting edge. THe possible implications for improving the brain health of my patients is absolutely enormous when you consider what improved brain health could mean for quality of life as they age.

If you have any questions about the dress, let me know.  Have a wonderful day!

Yours in health,
