My OBGYN does cancer screening especially if you have fam history. Typing to see if you have genetic markers for certain cancers

  10. Lara Wilson Reply

She did not do that type of testing

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

It sounds like she’s doing some genetic testing which is good but when combined with a functional test that shows current metabolism it’s even more effective.

      • Lara Wilson

The Office of Dr. Brad Shook so you should ask for functional testing? or is there another description?

      • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook

Lara, yes. It is an Estrogens Metabolites Test.

Thanks Karen! I work with people all over the country and around the world through Skype FaceTime and phone. If you need help I’m sure we could work with you via distance consulting.

Hi everyone! I’m getting a lot of private messages from people that are interested in estrogen testing and we can do it for people all around the country and even in other countries, but you do have to be a distance consulting client for me to order the test for you.

If you’re interested in an appointment here’s a link to learn more about the application process in case you’re interested https://bit.ly/2qIVaeN

I am estrogen dominant and my dr wants me to take progesterone orally and transdermal, along with testosterone. I am actually a bit afraid to start the treatment.

So what are your thoughts on saliva testing for hormones?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

I like it, but almost no prescribing physician will use it to base a prescription on. it’s all also only measuring free hormone, not total or protein bound.

I was curious about something. I was put on hormone therapy in April of 2017. I was on testosterone injection once a month and progesterone pill everday. In Jan of 2018 I had a mammogram and they found a huge mass. So just in a year time i had a mass that was 3 inches around, and a inch thick. I had a partial mastectomy, It wasn’t cancer. The doctor who took care of me sent it to 3 different labs, thinking it was cancer. After he heard I was on hormone therapy, he ask me why I was on it, and I discussed with him about my hashimoto’s. He told me I need to get off of it. Do you think the hormone therapy caused it? I know I was very lucky and it scared me enough. I am no longer taking it.

Thank you for the time and energy you take to inform the public, much appreciated! – I do have one question what are the tests needed (I currently have the DUTCH test done once a year and a comprehensive blood test) – is this testing enough?
