What about graves can the tpo’s attach to the brain also? And is this why graves also can attack the muscles around the eyes!? Thanks for these videos I’m always learning!

Hi Robert, I’m not sure about the cross reactivity of TSI antibodies with other tissues, I don’t think that much research has been done in that area. It’s my understanding that the muscles of the eyes hypertrophy or get larger due to persistent muscular contraction as a result of increase thyroid hormone. I wish I could tell you more but I just don’t think there’s research on that yet. The main thing to keep in mind with Graves disease is that it is an autoimmune condition. Just like hashimotos, Graves disease also needs to be approached from this autoimmune perspective the most valuable thing that I do with my hashimotos patients and distance clients is addressed the drivers and causes of their autoimmunity so that we can put that process either into remission or significantly damp and its activity. The autoimmunity is what causes the problems with Hashimoto’s and Graves at least in the in the beginning before it becomes very Advanced and causes significant tissue destruction and changes. Hope this helps you out, thank you for the comment. Have a great day.

Oh how I wish you were my doctor! I was told in 2005 that I had hypothyroidism. I was put on levothyroxine and have been on it ever since. In 2003 I had an episode that paramedics and doctor at first thought was a “brain stem stroke” but before I left the hospital they diagnosed me with vertigo. I’ve had EEG’s, CT scans, and so many other tests over the years… they basically just treat my symptoms or blame my uncontrolled type 2 diabetes. The last neurologist I was seeing put me on lamotrigine for seizures I was having. Now after watching this video I wonder if my problem could have something to do with this… please reply with your opinion about my problem, thanks.

Hi DeLes, autoimmunity could be at play, but your case has a lot of factors and that makes it difficult to say without knowing a lot more. Sorry.

I totally understand. My own PCP calls my issues “complex” because of everything that is going on with me. Finding the root cause of my problems is kind of like “what came first the chicken or the egg.” But I’m going to tell my doctor what you were talking about in this video and see what he thinks. You’re videos are VERY helpful.. thank you.

I have Hashimoto and get dizzy spells. I have had middle ear issues all of my life. Fluid in middle ear and tubes 3 times. What test do I need to ask for? It’s scary to think I could have damage to my brain!

What tests are needed for this? I live in Georgia, not NC, and I have brain fog and dizziness a lot. Please help!! Thank you!

I would love to come to your office and be assessed I am in Virginia have been diagnosed with hashimotos, sjfroens syndrome, anticardiolipin antbodies are positive. Some tests show lupus and some don’t. I don’t want to go back in the medications I was prescribed due the side effects. I’m worried my immune system could damage organs . Is that possible. I had a gall bladder removal 3 yrs ago and no stones but my gall bladder was at 0 function status. I had felt bad for over a month and had the hydascan and showed 0 function , could my hashimotos / sjfroens have caused that by destroying the functionality
