Can having part of your pituitary removed, eating healthy, while having Celiac Disease (I eat absolutely gluten free and mostly dairy free, very little sugar if any and very little processed anything if at all, drink mainly water and Karma water), make your thyroid go down and pancreas (I have Lupus too). I had my tumor removed in 2015 and the end of that year my thyroid failed. Now it seems my pancreas is failing. In Aug 2016 I sustained a trauma at work that left me with PTSD and activated everything. I had just finished 10 iron infusions and 5 B12 shots. I am trying to stay healthy. I don’t know what to do.

Can the damage of high cortisol over 20 years from Cushing’s disease be reversed?

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hey Sarah, I haven’t been exposed to any research on that, I’ll have to look it up. I can tell you that high cortisol does create extensive damage so I am very interested in better understanding what happens in the cases of Cushing’s.

I had a chiropractic neurologist once tell me that maybe my itchy scalp could be caused by inflammation in a sinus nerve that runs in the back of the head, b/c he said I had sooo much inflammation in my sinuses that it could be why my head itched constantly. no dandruff or dry scalp. what do you think? I also have Hashimoto’s, and also had cancer 5 years ago but ate well and did other things and got rid of my tumor.

    • The Office of Dr. Brad Shook Reply

Hi Tammy, I’m not familiar with the nerve pathway that could contribute to the itchy scalp. Fantastic job getting rid of your tumor, nutrition and environment undoubtedly play a very significant role in getting your health back.

I’m seeing a functional medicine doctor at this time but I do not think she has the knowledge you possess. I’ve invested a considerable amount of money with her so I want to continue for a bit. However if I don’t see an improvement under her care I am definitely going to schedule an appointment with you. I think you may be the answer to my prayers. Thanks for all that you do.
