OMG I have no answers! I have a primary, Rheumatologist, neurologist, endrocronologist, pain management, gastrointestinal! They are worthless! 4 years I’m done!!!!

    • Jo-Ann Marie Reply

I feel your frustration, but Do NOT give up!

      • Lori Lowery

Jo-Ann Gulotta Inguanta I’m really trying not to. Usually out of frustration, I will end up crying to the doctor. I get, “have you seen a psychiatrist or therapist”? What?!

      • Anna Tran

Lori Lowery… I’ve been to all the above and got the same answers as you. They all suggested I take anti-anxiety meds. I refused and instead, found a non-conventional way of dealing with my anxiety and pain. I do acupuncture. It has helped me tremendously with stress, pain, and bowel discomfort. My acupuncturist left 2 tiny pins in my ears to relieve my anxiety. It works! I do this in combo with working with Dr. Shook and I feel so much better. I’ve dealt with these symptoms on and off for over 7 years. It took persistence but it paid off. Don’t give up!

I did end up taking anxiety meds years ago, but I haven’t in a long time because once I started digging, I knew that was not the answer for me. I began to refuse most medications my doctor tried to put me on. I haven’t actually cried in front of my doctor, but cried when I got home. My most recent experience was with a second opinion orthopedic doctor I took my daughter to last week for hip issues. He was smug and absolutely worthless!!!!! He eye-balled her and spent only about 10 minutes with us. I was frustated and angry when I got home at after 7:30 that in addition to teaching all day. Yes, I did cry and was emotionally, mentally and physically drained! I was mad at myself because I feel like I didn’t advocate enough for her and let him get away with not giving her an MRI. I got over it, however the fight is not over!!!!! I am having her PT follow-up with him and if his response is not acceptable, I will be complaining and writing a review.

Can you please advice about thyroid medication like WP?and should I take it or not before a blood test? My doctor said to take it and do the blood work 2-3hrs afterwards. I thought that it’s better not to take the meds before a blood test to measure hormones. Please advice

What are your thoughts on dissicated hormone therapy???

  20. Diana Barnes Reply

Absolutely…it’s a matter of what’s taught, and the control they must contractually adhere to

  21. Diana Barnes Reply

Find an independent practice….more are forming by doctors who want to practice to a higher standard, to make the best decisions they can for their patients.

  22. Diana Barnes Reply

Corporate-owned hospital networks deny hospital use for doctors who Don’t sign the contact…sell out by force. I know Several personally, whose careers did Not go as they had planned, being forced to close their practices to incorporate. Doctors are Human and hurt too. Independent medical groups often concentrate on a specialty and have their OWN surgical capabilities/facility.

  23. Diana Barnes Reply

With my comments, I am simply providing another bit of explanation about today’s medical/surgical hospital system, especially in highly populated and metro areas.

  24. Diana Barnes Reply

Good man, Dr Shook, helping people understand more than the mainstream medical system provides today.

So how do we change this? The insurance company having say about the tests the doctors order when we ask. It is obviously a huge issue. We are not statistics we are individual people.

  32. Rachael Fritz Reply

Our doctors will never dive deep enough to figure out all of these possible things. This is why we are sick and tired and give up.

  33. Rachael Fritz Reply

You are the guru and one out 2 people that I have watched that actually try to help people.

Based on my own experience any treatment should start with the liver cleansing. Liver is the most trickiest part of our body. It never hurts, as it does not have nerves, but in majority of illnesses it is the main cause of other pains. It is the main filter of the blood and is responsible for so many other organs to be functional, vitamins and nutrients to be absorbed and inflammation to be down. It is like with anything else in the world: if you want to start a new life, start with cleaning:)
