Psoriasis Supplement Protocol

Stop Guessing Which Supplements to Take for Psoriasis

I built this 12-week foundational plan to bring together the nutritional, digestive, gut-barrier, microbiome, omega-3, vitamin D, inflammatory-balance, and liver-support strategies I commonly consider when supporting autoimmune physiology.

Self-directed foundational support. This is not a cure for psoriasis and does not replace appropriate medical or dermatologic care.

Why I Built This

Random Supplements Are Not a Strategy

If you search for psoriasis supplements, it does not take long to find dozens of recommendations. Omega-3s. Vitamin D. Curcumin. Probiotics. Zinc. Digestive support. Liver support. The problem is not a shortage of products. The problem is knowing how the pieces fit together.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease. A supplement cannot tell us what first triggered the autoimmune process in you, and there is no single supplement that explains every case.

The better question is not, “Which one supplement treats psoriasis?” It is: Which foundational systems are worth supporting while I work on the bigger picture?

That is what this plan is designed to do. It gives you a structured starting point instead of asking you to build a supplement program bottle by bottle.

Why This Is Personal

My Psoriasis Changed the Way I Think About Health

Brad Shook, DC, AFMC

I knew there had to be more.

I knew something internally was causing my psoriasis and that putting something on my skin was not going to address why it was happening.

I lived with psoriasis for years. I saw dermatologists, used topical treatments, and tried light-based approaches. Those treatments did temporarily help the outward symptoms, but at what cost? I had used tanning beds, steroids, tar-based creams, and topical treatments that sensitized my skin to light, all without addressing why it was actually happening internally. I kept coming back to the same question: what is causing my psoriasis in the first place? I did not just want to treat the symptoms.

That question led me to study functional medicine and functional immunology. I began looking at how diet and nutrition, gastrointestinal health, the intestinal lining as an immune barrier, nutrient status, metabolic health and insulin sensitivity, stress, sleep, environmental exposures, infections, and other signals can interact with the immune system.

Throughout my own journey and years of working with clients, I learned that there are practical ways to support autoimmune physiology without always starting with extensive testing. An educated, clinically informed approach to nutrition, lifestyle, and targeted supplementation can be a cost-effective place to begin. That is why I created this 12-week psoriasis supplement, diet, and lifestyle protocol.

A Focused Place to Start

What This Protocol Is, and What It Is Not

What it is

  • A structured 12-week foundational SUPPORT plan.
  • A coordinated approach to several physiological support areas.
  • Clear product instructions instead of a loose shopping list.
  • Nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress recommendations in the same plan.
  • A self-directed option for people who want a reasonable place to begin.

What it is not

  • A cure for psoriasis.
  • A replacement for dermatology, rheumatology, or prescribed medication.
  • A test that identifies your personal triggers or drivers.
  • An individualized plan based on your labs, medications, or health history.
  • A reason to keep taking every product indefinitely without reassessment.
The Functional Medicine Framework

DETECT → SUPPORT → REASSESS

The protocol intentionally focuses on one part of the process: SUPPORT.

1

Detect

Investigate the history, symptoms, diet, labs, medications, exposures, digestion, lifestyle, and other clues that may point toward meaningful triggers, drivers, or physiological patterns.

This protocol
2

Support

Provide foundational support for nutrient status, fatty-acid balance, digestion, the intestinal barrier, the microbiome, vitamin D status, inflammatory signaling, and normal hepatic biotransformation.

3

Reassess

Look at what changed, what did not, what you tolerated, and what your response teaches you. The next decision should come from the response, not from blindly continuing a protocol forever.

What's Inside

Your 12-Week Psoriasis Foundation

I organized the protocol by physiological role first and product second. The point is not to buy a bunch of supplements. It is to build a focused protocol around areas of physiology that are commonly relevant in psoriasis and autoimmune health.

Hepatic biotransformation

Nutritional liver support

Provides amino acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and cofactors used in normal hepatic biotransformation and elimination pathways.

Apex Energetics ClearVite-GL™
Why support multiple parts of your physiology?

Because psoriasis is not one uniform problem. I designed this protocol to support several areas that commonly matter in autoimmune health, so the pieces work together as a broader foundation.

Diet + Lifestyle

The Plan Also Includes the Daily Habits That Matter

A good psoriasis supplementation protocol should be complemented by dietary and lifestyle changes. This plan includes practical nutrition and lifestyle guidance to help improve the environment the supplements are designed to support. In similar cases, I have seen this broader strategy become an important part of meaningful progress for many clients.

NutritionWhole, nutrient-dense foods, adequate protein, healthy fats, fiber, hydration, and a simple food-and-symptom journal.
MovementConsistent activity, walking, strength work, and appropriate modifications when joints are painful or inflamed.
SleepConsistent sleep timing, morning light, a quieter evening routine, and attention to possible sleep-disorder symptoms.
Stress managementA simple daily practice that helps you recover from chronic psychological and physiological stress.

This is a 12-week strategy designed to bring supplementation, diet, and lifestyle together in one focused plan.

Client Experiences

What Some Clients Have Shared About Their Psoriasis Journey With Dr. Shook

These stories are not claims that this supplement protocol will produce the same results. They are examples of why I believe a broader psoriasis strategy that combines nutritional support with dietary and lifestyle changes can create meaningful opportunities for people with psoriasis.

Sherry before and after psoriasis wellness transformation

Sherry's Psoriasis Story

Sherry reported improvement in her feet, hands, and overall health while working with Dr. Shook.

She said the painful cracking in her feet was gone and that her hands were doing much better. She also described feeling dramatically better compared with the previous year.

“My feet have been doing a lot better! No cracks! My hands of course are doing better too.”

Choose the Right Level of Support

Do You Want a Foundation, or Do You Want an Investigation?

Choose the protocol if...

  • You want a structured self-directed place to begin.
  • You want the products, instructions, and lifestyle recommendations organized for you.
  • You understand that this is foundational SUPPORT.
  • You want the most budget friendly way to get started.

Consider individualized care if...

  • You want help investigating what may be triggering or driving your autoimmune process.
  • You have a more complex case or questions about testing.
  • You want your history, labs, diet, lifestyle, exposures, and response reviewed as one case.
  • You want the full DETECT → SUPPORT → REASSESS process.

Joint symptoms deserve special attention.

If you have joint pain, swelling, prolonged morning stiffness, heel pain, swollen fingers or toes, or significant nail changes, do not rely on a supplement protocol alone. Psoriatic arthritis deserves timely medical evaluation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About the Psoriasis Supplement Protocol

Is this a cure for psoriasis?

No. There is no scientifically established supplement cure for psoriasis. This is a foundational nutrition and lifestyle support protocol designed to support several areas of physiology that may be relevant to autoimmune health. It is intended to complement appropriate medical and dermatologic care.

Do I have to take every supplement in the protocol?

The Fullscript plan is organized as a coordinated foundational protocol, but your medications, health history, allergies, pregnancy status, laboratory findings, or other medical considerations may change what is appropriate for you. If you are unsure whether a product is appropriate, review the plan with your physician, pharmacist, or another qualified healthcare professional before starting it.

Can I use this protocol if I take psoriasis medication?

Possibly, but supplement and medication interactions matter. Do not stop or change a prescription medication because you are starting this protocol. Review the complete supplement list with the clinician or pharmacist responsible for your medications before beginning it.

How long is the psoriasis supplement protocol?

The plan is structured as a 12-week foundation. At approximately 12 weeks, reassess your skin, digestion, energy, sleep, tolerance, lifestyle, medication changes, and any relevant laboratory findings rather than automatically continuing every product indefinitely.

Does the protocol include diet and lifestyle recommendations?

Yes. The Fullscript plan includes nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress-management recommendations in addition to the supplement instructions. The goal is to support the larger physiological environment rather than treat supplements as the whole strategy.

Why is the protocol ordered through Fullscript?

Fullscript keeps the complete plan, product instructions, current account pricing or practitioner discounts when available, and reordering in one place. Purchases and fulfillment are handled through Fullscript rather than directly by DrBradShook.com.

Is this the same as individualized functional medicine care with Brad Shook?

No. This supplement protocol is a self-directed foundational SUPPORT plan. Individualized care adds the DETECT and REASSESS parts of the process by reviewing your history, symptoms, records, labs, diet, lifestyle, exposures, medications, and response to determine which factors deserve attention in your case.

What if I have joint pain or think I may have psoriatic arthritis?

Joint pain, swelling, prolonged morning stiffness, heel pain, swollen fingers or toes, or significant nail changes deserve appropriate medical evaluation. A supplement protocol should not delay evaluation for possible psoriatic arthritis because inflammatory joint disease can cause damage if it is not recognized and treated appropriately.

If a structured 12-week foundation is what you are looking for, you can review the complete psoriasis protocol in Fullscript now. If you want help investigating your individual triggers, drivers, physiology, history, labs, and priorities, choose the Application for Care instead.

By purchasing or using supplements through this protocol, you acknowledge the Supplement Purchase & Use Terms. Fullscript's current terms and fulfillment policies also apply.

This public protocol is self-directed educational and nutritional support. Purchasing or reordering supplements does not by itself establish, renew, extend, or expand an individualized consulting relationship with Brad Shook, DC, AFMC.

Important Health Information

Supplements can interact with medications and may not be appropriate for everyone. Review the complete plan with your physician, pharmacist, or another qualified healthcare professional before beginning it if you take prescription medications, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have significant liver, kidney, gallbladder, bleeding, or other medical conditions, or are preparing for surgery.

Do not stop or change prescription psoriasis treatment because you begin this protocol. Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis can require medical treatment, and functional medicine strategies can be used alongside appropriate care.
